LBB: Tell us a little about yourself, and what you do?
RK: I own natural nail care salon, Van Court in Manhattan’s Financial District. When I’m not at the store, you can find me spending time with my dogs, practicing yoga, spinning, or coloring in a coloring book.
LBB: What’s your favorite part about your “job”?
RK: Working with the most talented nail technicians in the industry and being around creative individuals who support ethical beauty practices.
LBB: What are your must have beauty products? What can’t you leave the house without?
RK: Lanolips All Over Balm, Jurlique’s Rose Hand Cream, and Lauren B’s Nail & Cuticle Balm
LBB: What is the most special/your favorite thing about NYC?
RK: The energy and being amongst the hardest workers in the world
LBB: Where are your absolute favorite shops/restaurants?
RK: I’m crazy about Shen Beauty; I’m a sucker for Zara; there’s nothing better than shopping in the West Village on Bleecker Street; fave restaurant is Le District’s Beaubourg – the food is amazing and the view of the Hudson is perfect at sunset, ask for a table outside.
LBB: What inspired you to start your own company?
RK: The need for an ethical nail salon that employs the industries most talented nail techs.
