Indian Summer Pt. 2

Fall should be right around the corner, and while in the midst of this beautiful but busy time of year we Californians call Indian summer, I took a moment to slow down and look at my surroundings. What I saw was overwhelming with inspiration. In case you missed it read yesterdays blog post here to get the full story of our inspiration. As promised we want to share this simple geometric nail art that is perfect for this time of year and is certain to get some compliments. The three colors I used are Laurel Canyon Lover, the beautiful deep red, Sunset Tower, the perfect pale peach, and lastly, Vintage on Vine, my favorite neutral mauve. HINT** As we get started with this nail art I cant stress enough that tape is your best friend, especially if you don’t have the steadiest of hands. Simple scotch Tape will make this quick and painless and you’ll come out with a beautiful new manicure. Let’s get started: Step 1: Make sure to apply a good base coat, like our Nail Perfecter. Most people don’t realize the importance of a good base coat until it’s too late. Don’t make that mistake! Step 2: Apply base color coat to all nails and then repeat with a second coat. Please allow 3 min dry time. (Here we used Sunset Tower as our base) Step 3: The infamous tape you have been hearing about. Start by cutting a few thin strips of tape to keep handy, once you have cut them gently place on dry nails in desired formation. In our manicure we did some cross patterns, and simple line designs. Make sure your nails are dry before applying tape otherwise you will end up with a not-so-fun mess. Once tape is in place paint one coat of desired color and allow it to dry before removing tape. There is no exact formulation on where to place tape, so have fun with this part and experiment! Step 4: Let your manicure dry completely, then apply our Lauren B. Gel Like Top coat. The thicker gel topcoat is best for this look. It will not only lock in your manicure for up to 2 weeks, but the consistency is thicker and will not make your freshly painted lines bleed or run into each other.
